CREATION OF CANADA’S LARGEST HELI-CAT OPERATION

Nelson, BC, Canada September, 2006 – Snowwater Heli Skiing is proud to announce that is has recently acquired Valhalla Powdercats, making this new combined helicopter and snowcat team the largest and most diversified heli-cat ski operation in Canada.

Although continuing to operate under separate names, Valhalla and Snowwater will now work together, sharing their extensive guiding and management expertise.   With a combined resource pool, they’ll be able to offer customers a superior and more varied Kootenay powder experience.  Guests will now have access to three outstanding mountain ranges and will enjoy an increased variety of holiday choices, including proximity to Nelson, with its fine accommodation, dining, shopping and nightlife. A new central reservation system will also make booking combo trips easier.

 

        
                                             

Previous Valhalla Powdercats owner Martin Keyserlingk will keep his position as Operations Manager of the Valhalla Snowcat portion of the business.  Valhalla will remain one of BC’s leading snowcat operations, providing access to some of the most incredible big mountain terrain in the heart of the Valhalla Mountains to experienced skiers and riders from around the globe.  New improvements are already underway, including expanded ski terrain, kick-ass sound systems for each cat and other client comforts.  Future plans include the construction of a stunning lakeside mountain lodge. 

                                                                                                        

Snowwater will now provide the heli-skiing component for both operations. The addition of the Valhallas to the already spectacular operating area means more incredible powder and terrain for everyone.  With an emphasis on fine detail Snowwater offers an intimate small group setting catering to no more than twelve guests at a time and only four people per guide.  Snowwater clients stay high in the mountains in a luxurious timber frame lodge featuring 5-star cuisine. Worth mentioning is the snowcat backup at Snowwater which guarantees you ski or ride everyday regardless of the weather.  It is an unparalleled adventure in this industry!
